Did You Drive for Uber?

Josh Angrist has worn many hats: MIT professor, ‘Metrics Master, Nobel Laureate, Uber Driver…

You read that right – Josh used to drive for Uber! We asked him why: “I was doing some research on Uber, and I thought, ‘I need to know what the world looks like to an Uber driver.’”

This fun Q&A video explores some lessons learned from his on-the-ground research – does surge pricing get drivers to drive more? Do drivers prefer the compensation models of taxi medallions or Uber? How many questions can you ask a passenger until they wish you’d stop asking questions?

This video is the seventh in our series of Q&As about our course Mastering Econometrics.
